Cooling for industrial buildings and factories

Large volumes, high ceilings, open loading doors and heat loads from machinery. Conventional air conditioning doesn't work here. Blizzcool equipment does: evaporative cooling and HVLS ventilation with no fixed installation, no refrigerant gases and up to 80% lower energy use than traditional air conditioning.

The thermal challenge of an industrial building

A production or storage building builds up heat in three ways: solar radiation on the metal roof, heat generated by machinery and processes, and a constant inflow of hot air through the loading doors.

The result is indoor temperatures that can exceed 45 °C in summer, affecting productivity, staff concentration and equipment performance.

Conventional air conditioning is not viable in these spaces: the volumes are too large, the building is not airtight and energy costs soar. You need a system that works with the open space, not against it.

°C reduction

Temperature reduction achievable with evaporative cooling in semi-open spaces.

Common applications

Each area of an industrial building has different needs. These are the most common scenarios we solve.

Production lines

Direct cooling of work areas with portable evaporative coolers. Air movement without harsh draughts

Storage areas

HVLS ceiling fans for thermal destratification and even air distribution in high-bay buildings

Welding and foundry stations

Industrial portable air conditioners aimed at the workstation and spot ventilation in areas of extreme heat.

Loading bays and doors

Evaporative coolers at entry points to counter the inflow of hot outside air.

Recommended equipment for industrial buildings

The best combination depends on the volume, ceiling height, degree of openness and heat load of each building. These are the most common units in this type of space.

Why Blizzcool for industrial buildings

Works with the doors open

Evaporative cooling makes use of natural ventilation. The more air circulates, the better it works. It doesn't need a sealed space.

No refrigerant gases

Just water and air. Complies with environmental regulations with no gas circuits to maintain.

Up to 80% lower energy use

An evaporative cooler uses between 0.5 and 1.5 kW. An equivalent air conditioning unit, between 5 and 15 kW.

Portable and relocatable

It goes wherever it's needed. Today on the production line, tomorrow at the loading bay. No building work.

Can be combined with HVLS

Evaporative coolers + ceiling fans = a complete cooling system for the whole building.
