Cooling for mechanical and automotive workshops
Open doors, running engines, welding, painting, heat trapped under a metal roof. You can't close a workshop to cool it down. Blizzcool units work with the open space: direct evaporative cooling, high-volume ventilation and portable air conditioners for enclosed areas. No building work, no gases, no downtime
The heat challenge in a workshop
A mechanical workshop combines several heat sources in a semi-open space: solar radiation on the metal roof, heat from engines and welding equipment, paint fumes and drying booths, and a constant flow of hot air through the vehicle access doors.
In summer, indoor temperatures can exceed 40 °C. That reduces staff concentration, slows down repair times and compromises the quality of sensitive processes such as painting and drying.
Conventional air conditioning is not viable: the doors are constantly open, the air volume is large and the energy costs would be disproportionate. You need a system that works precisely in those conditions.
Typical temperature in workshops without cooling during July and August on Spain's eastern coast.
Common applications
Each area of a building has different needs. These are the most common scenarios we solve.
General mechanics area
Portable evaporative coolers aimed at workstations. Constant air movement without harsh draughts that stir up dust or disrupt precision work.
Paint and prep booths
Support ventilation in areas next to the booths. Lower ambient temperature to improve finish quality and operator comfort.
Welding and bodywork stations
Evaporative coolers and wall fans aimed at the areas with the highest heat load. Constant air renewal to dissipate radiant heat from the processes.
Reception and workshop office
Portable air conditioners for the enclosed customer service and admin areas, where conditioning a contained space is possible.
Recommended units for workshops
The right combination depends on the workshop floor area, ceiling height, number of workstations and whether there are welding or painting areas. These are the most common product families.
Why Blizzcool for workshops
No need to close the workshop
Evaporative coolers work best with natural ventilation. Open doors, vehicles coming and going: the system works with the airflow, not against it.
Portable and movable
In the mechanics area today, next to the paint booth tomorrow. Move it wherever it's needed with no building work or fixed installation.
Minimal energy cost
An evaporative cooler uses between 0.5 and 1.5 kW. Compared with conventional air conditioning, savings can exceed 80%.
Compatible with painting processes
No condensation, no particles. Evaporative cooling provides clean, humidified air without compromising the paint finish.
Combine by area
Evaporative coolers for the open building, wall fans at fixed points, HVLS to destratify and portable AC in the office. Every area covered with the right technology.
