Ventilation and cooling for padel and tennis courts

Indoor padel courts, indoor tennis courts, racket centres and clubs with covered facilities. An enclosed court with a metal-sheet or canvas roof builds up heat and humidity that affect performance and comfort. Blizzcool units cool the air without creating draughts that interfere with play.

The heat challenge on indoor racket courts

Indoor padel and tennis courts are medium-to-high volume spaces with roofs that absorb direct solar radiation. In summer, the indoor temperature can exceed 40 °C by mid-afternoon, and natural ventilation is not enough because the side enclosures — glass, mesh or canvas — restrict airflow.

What sets racket sports apart is that any strong air current changes the trajectory of the ball. Conventional air conditioning produces directional jets that are incompatible with play, and it is also unworkable on covered courts where the space is not sealed.

Combining evaporative coolers — which lower the temperature without direct draughts over the court — with wall and portable fans in the side areas creates a cool, even environment without interfering with the match.

−12
°C reduction

A Blizzcool evaporative cooler can lower the ambient temperature by 10 to 15 °C on indoor courts, without creating direct draughts over the playing area.

Common applications

Every type of racket facility has its own particularities. The solution varies depending on the enclosure, the height and the existing natural ventilation.

Indoor padel courts

Evaporative coolers positioned in the corners or along the sides, facing the rest areas. Indirect ventilation that cools the air without affecting the ball in play.

Indoor tennis courts

Evaporative coolers combined with HVLS fans where the height of the building allows. Air distributed from above to avoid side draughts at net level.

Multi-sport clubs with racket areas

Wall fans in the walkways and rest areas between courts. Portable coolers for events or tournaments where occupancy and heat load increase.

Club common areas and changing rooms

Portable and wall fans for reception, café, corridors and changing rooms. Comfort for players before and after the match with no complex fixed installation.

Recommended equipment for racket courts

The choice depends on the type of court, the roof height and whether the facility is enclosed or partly open. These are the product families most widely used in padel and tennis clubs.

Why Blizzcool for padel and tennis courts

Cooling without draughts over the court

Evaporative cooling lowers the overall ambient temperature without blowing directional jets of air that could deflect a padel or tennis ball during play.

Suitable for partly open courts

Unlike air conditioning, evaporative coolers do not need a sealed space. They work just as well on indoor courts, covered courts or courts with an open side.

More playing hours in summer

An indoor court that goes from 42 °C to 28-30 °C wins back the middle hours of the day for play. That means more bookings, more turnover and more revenue for the club.

Very low running costs

Evaporative coolers use between 0.5 and 1.5 kW, a fraction of the cost of an air conditioning system for the same volume. Mains water and basic electricity.

A competitive edge for the club

A padel or tennis club with controlled temperatures in summer stands out from the rest. Thermal comfort becomes a reason for members to stay and for new ones to join.
